A Note on Our Soap Pricing

You may have noticed that our soaps are now priced at $13 per bar.

This change follows a thorough evaluation of what it truly costs to create each bar, not only in ingredients and packaging, but in time, design, and labor.

Our goal has always been to create something beyond a functional bar of soap. While quality soap can easily be found in stores across the country, we have focused on crafting something unique, a functional work of art designed to bring beauty and nostalgia into your home.

Every Mainland Vintage soap tells a story, a memory of a place, a skyline at dusk, a stretch of desert, a wildflower field, a mountain range. That inspiration becomes a design translated into colors, texture, layers, and scent.

Each bar is:

  • Hand-mixed in small batches
  • Carefully poured and layered
  • Swirled, sculpted, or textured with intention
  • Cut, finished, stamped, labeled, and wrapped individually

This creative work is guided by structure and discipline, and that level of craftsmanship is time-intensive. 

 

Valuing the Work Behind the Bar

Over the past year, Mainland Vintage has taken significant steps forward as a business, moving into a dedicated studio and expanding our team. With that growth, we’ve taken a serious look at our margins, especially on soap.

For a long time, the labor required to create these detailed designs was not fully reflected in the price. That’s not sustainable for a business that wants to continue creating thoughtfully and paying people fairly for their work.

While ingredient and packaging costs have increased over time, the largest factor in this adjustment is properly valuing the time and dedication it takes to create our soaps.

This update allows us to continue making design-driven soaps without simplifying what makes them distinctive.

  • Thoughtful design inspired by nostalgia and travel
  • Careful attention to detail
