Whipped body butter has been a popular product over the last few years, and we wanted to dive into the difference between the two types of body butters. You'll often see whipped body butter available in larger containers because it has air whipped into it, making it fluffier but less concentrated. Both approaches work, but we chose density because of how it performs when it reaches your skin, and because of its stability through shipping and on your shelf.
The Comparison: What's the Real Difference?
The difference between a whipped body butter and a regular body butter comes down to one step in the making. A whipped body butter starts like ours does: a blend of moisturizing butters and nourishing oils. Then comes the electric whisk, and as air gets incorporated into the formula, it will lighten the texture and expand the volume. If your feed is anything like mine, you've seen the videos of makers piping freshly whipped body butter into jars.
Our body butter skips that step. Blended with an immersion blender and then cooled from its liquid form, it stays rich and dense. No extra air gets incorporated, just concentrated product.
